Why should WPS students use Google apps?

Accessibility, Communication, Collaboration, Feedback and Green...Due to the online nature of Google apps means that  it may be accessed from anywhere, on a variety of electronic devices, and at anytime. Students have the ability to share and work on the same document which means students can collaborate on a project at school or at their home. Collaboration and communication are essential 21st century skills to be learned. Teachers can share a document with an individual or groups of students and have the ability to give feedback during the course of the project. Google Apps are green since papers do not have to be printed and files do not have to be stored on the school’s server.

What is Google Apps for Education? (GAFE)

Google Apps for Education (GAFE) is a cloud based suite of applications available for students and educators. Students use a secure domain to log in to their account and gain access to apps such as Google documents (docs), slides, spreadsheets, calendar, and forms as well as other educational apps. Google Drive also has storage capacity of 30 GB for files from Google Apps, as well as uploads from a computer.

Google apps are available on any device, anytime, anywhere; therefore, GAFE is a simple way for students to collaborate from home or school.
